The Vessel

S/V Dulinea Overview
A 1982 Hinterhoeller Niagara 35 born of Canadian designer Mark Ellis, who also designed the Hinterhoeller Nonsuch series. The design is traditional in appearance with pronounced sheer, strong lines and a solid hull. The Niagara 35 has earned a reputation as a fast, easily managed blue water cruiser. Overall length is 35’-1” (without appendages), beam is 11’-5”, draft is 5’-2” ans displacement is 15,000 lbs with 37% ballast.

Although the Niagara 35 looks very traditional on the exterior, it is quite different on the interior. It has been said that Mark Ellis came very close to setting the standard for the ideal cruising boat in the 35 ft range. With its unique interior, it strikes a good balance between being a live aboard and a no nonsense cruising boat.

  1. Wow, guy's. This looks a lot like my upgrade list (little different format, but the same results). It feels good to see it all in print, doesn't it? Early on I learned not tracking it makes you wonder what got done. Well, other than just looking at and using the beautiful and comfortable changes daily and appreciating their beauty. Have a great mooring adventure!
